Library prepares for new Learning Commons

The Horrmann Library has embarked on a renovation project designed to meet our students' needs and requests for more computers, group study, and multimedia spaces within the library.

The new Learning Commons will contain two new student computing areas with extra printers, as well as four new multimedia capable study rooms.

The Multimedia Study Rooms have been designed for small groups of students, 6-8 maximum, in order to provide a place for group study, for group presentation practice, and for student practice using SmartBoards and other technology. The rooms will each contain a SmartBoard, a large table, a hard-wired network computer, as well as a docking station for personal laptops. Video recording and document projection equipment will also be available upon request.

We will also embark on a new laptop lending program, offering students the ability to borrow laptops for use within the library.

The Horrmann Library Learning Commons renovation has been made possible by a generous gift from the Wagner College Class of '59. The project is expected to be completed during Spring 2011.

There will be occasional noise and disruption as construction progresses, but we appreciate your patience and understanding as we build your new Learning Commons.

Stay tuned for more photos...
